From the acclaimed “Yuji Sakai Modeling Collection” soft vinyl figure series, Godzilla (2001) returns—based on his appearance in the film Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. This version of Godzilla, with blank white eyes and a uniquely terrifying expression, became an instant fan favorite and stood apart from previous designs.
Yuji Sakai has sculpted Godzilla in a pose that pays homage to the original 1954 version, inspired by a still photograph he has long admired. The brown-toned paintwork reflects the actual suit used in the film and was supervised by Sakai himself. The sculpt was originally produced in cast, then converted to wax to create a master mold, from which all production pieces are made—ensuring minimal detail loss in the soft vinyl process.
This release uses the same mold as the 2016 edition from the same series.
